About the role

  • Lead, plan and execute on strategic and tactical design initiatives for Android and iOS for Omnipod’s Mobile App Suite
  • Work closely with cross-functional development teams to ensure world-class product design
  • Define safe, effective and delightful user experiences using Figma, Creative Cloud, Sketch, Zeplin, Overflow/Invision/Azure
  • Deliver wireframes, asset delivery, GUI specifications in agile environment
  • Lead UX discussions with technical partners (Glooko, Tidepool) and integrate requirements and APIs
  • Collaborate with User Research and Human Factors to test concepts and apply user centered design
  • Present design concepts to teams and executive leadership
  • Collaborate with Clinical and Human Factors to ensure designs meet FDA guidelines for medical device experiences
  • Drive innovation initiatives related to UX process, tools or design language
  • Mentor junior staff and evangelize UX across the company
  • Support global customer experience across touchpoints including OOBE, web, mobile, product integrations and wearables

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or Master’s (Psychology, Computer Science, HCI, Industrial Engineering, Interaction Design, Design, Human Factors or equivalent) required
  • 7+ years of relevant experience in UX and product design
  • Expert level expertise in articulating design decisions, take ownership, handle ambiguity, drive and lock down stakeholder alignment
  • Expert knowledge in Industry standard UX/Dev tools- Figma, Creative Cloud, Framer, Sketch, HTML, CSS, JavaScript, etc
  • Fluent in usability standards and design heuristics and responsive design techniques
  • Expert knowledge of Android and iOS UI guidelines and platforms
  • Strong portfolio required with strong storytelling and presentation skills
  • 7+ years of experience working in an agile development environment
  • Ability to collaborate cross functionally, specifically in areas of product development working closely with clinical partners such as Human Factors
  • Strong technical hardware and software knowledge a plus
  • Experience designing and launching product that meets accessibility standard is a strong plus
  • Preference for experience working on medical devices or consumer wearables
  • Working knowledge of User Research tools and methodologies
  • Intellectual curiosity and ability to prototype when necessary
  • Ongoing US travel as needed (at least once per quarter)
