About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Ensure accuracy, transparency, completeness and timeliness of the monthly close: P&L statement per department, KPI’s and operational balance sheets.
  • Driving performance management by identifying, preparing, combining and interpretation of relevant operational and financial parameters and KPIs on ongoing basis.
  • Perform variance analysis reporting, produce insightful ad‑hoc reporting and deliver forward‑looking projections and scenario analyses.
  • Maintain and update business forecasts, monitor variances against budget/forecast and proactively highlight risks, opportunities and corrective actions.
  • Develop and support the KPI frameworks, dashboards, BI tools and profitability analyses (with a focus on transport and warehouse operations).
  • Support on business development activities including tracking, support and follow up to local strategies and investment cases.
  • Assist, develop and take initiative for all other financial business related matters, such as business and customer analysis, contracts and projects.
  • Initiate, develop and support initiatives for cost savings, revenue growth, margin improvement, new business.
  • Being an active business partner and sparring partner for the managing director and management team for all financial and operational related matters.
  • Take part in annual audit by external auditors.
  • Responsible for the KPI framework of the business, so variances in business can be measured.
  • Assist Other BU continent finance business partners in the execution of their duties as appropriate.

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • You have at least 5-8 years of experience in a similar finance or controlling role.
  • You hold a higher degree in Finance, Economics, Business Administration or a related field.
  • Excellent analytical skills and result orientation with high focus on quality.
  • You are critical-minded, logical in your reasoning and comfortable combining both financial and operational data into meaningful insights.
  • You are IT-minded and excel has no secrets for you (pivot tables, lookups, etc.) and experience with BI tools, OneStream and/or Microsoft D365 is a plus.
  • You have good communication skills in Dutch and English and are comfortable working in a multicultural, cross-national team environment.
  • You are proactive, work independently yet enjoy being part of a team.
  • You have a personal drive, are outgoing and friendly, and you take personal responsibility — you understand the importance of deadlines and delivering reliable results.
