Key responsibilities & impact

Support environmental and social risk assessments for projects in Sub-Saharan Africa
Evaluate environmental and social impacts and compliance processes
Monitor project performance and ensure investment compliance with standards
Review the adequacy of environmental and social documentation
Prepare gap analysis and action plans for compliance
Provide guidance on environmental and social requirements to clients
Conduct site visits for environmental and social due diligence

What you’ll need

At least five years of experience in environmental and social impact assessments (ESIAs)
Experience in applying the IFC Performance Standards
At least five years of experience with Development Finance Institutions (DFIs) and/or private sector in Sub-Saharan Africa
Knowledge of conducting environmental and social impact assessments in various sectors
Ability to interpret and apply international policies, laws, and regulations
Knowledge of effective environmental and social management systems
Ability to engage effectively with representatives of governments, industry, and NGOs
U.S. Citizenship required; ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust clearance
