Covering gaming, TV & Movies, anime, entertainment, food, social media, content creators, and viral internet culture
Identifying stories through social media, industry sources, and trend monitoring
Pitching original story ideas and features
Publishing and promoting stories across social media platforms including X and Facebook
Writing social copy that encourages engagement and helps stories reach new audiences
Working closely with editors to ensure stories meet Dexerto's editorial standards
Contributing ideas for headlines, angles, and follow-up coverage
Helping identify emerging trends before they become mainstream stories

Requirements

What you’ll need

Experience writing for a digital publication, website, newspaper, magazine, or similar outlet
Strong news judgment and an instinct for stories that will resonate with online audiences
Excellent writing, research, and fact-checking skills
A genuine interest in gaming, entertainment, social media, content creators, and online culture
A strong understanding of social media platforms and how stories spread online
Experience using platforms such as X, TikTok, YouTube, Instagram, Facebook, Twitch, and Reddit
Experience posting content to social media accounts on behalf of a publication is desirable
The ability to work quickly without sacrificing accuracy
Someone who is happy covering a wide range of topics and adapting to new trends
