About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Participate in building quality into products by writing automated tests and performing ad hoc testing throughout the development cycle
  • Participate in the development of software requirements and design specifications
  • Design, develop, execute, and maintain automated and manual test scripts for Dexcom CGM software and systems
  • Create verification and validation test plans, test reports, and traceability matrices and review them with relevant stakeholders
  • Record and track issues in the bug tracking system
  • Analyze failures and collaborate with development teams to investigate root causes
  • Contribute to release process improvements
  • Work cross-functionally with software development teams on testing, deployment, and reporting product performance, quality, security, and stability
  • Travel 15–25%

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • 1–2 years of hands-on experience in software development or software test development using Python or other object-oriented programming languages
  • Experience with SQL and NoSQL databases
  • Experience with automated test development in API testing
  • Experience working with automated testing frameworks, including Robot Framework
  • Strong understanding of API testing, microservices, and distributed systems in cloud environments
  • Experience with automated UI testing
  • Experience working with cloud applications such as Google Cloud or AWS
  • Experience with containerization tools such as Docker and Kubernetes
  • CI/CD experience, especially using cloud-based technologies
  • Five or more years of Agile development and test development experience
  • Medical device industry experience and experience working with FDA design control processes highly desired
  • Knowledge of GCP with Airflow, Dataflow, and BigQuery is a plus
  • Knowledge of distributed event-streaming platforms such as Kafka is a plus
  • Performance testing experience is a plus
  • Ability to collaborate cross-functionally with software development teams
  • Self-starter able to work with minimal guidance
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Typically requires a Bachelor’s degree in a technical discipline
  • Home office location; no requirement to live within commuting distance of a Dexcom site
  • Ability to meet 15–25% travel requirement
