About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Planning and administration of the network environment (LAN, WLAN, structured cabling) for our sites
Support and further development of our firewall environments, including VPN
Administering and securing remote access, including 2FA
Active participation in and shaping of the IT security process
Planning and implementation of security-relevant IT projects
Administration and monitoring of WAN connections, including the associated routers
Support for patch management of Windows servers
Management and monitoring of antivirus/endpoint security solutions
Support for selected Linux systems, in particular Postfix and the mail architecture

Requirements

What you’ll need

Successfully completed training as an IT specialist or a degree in computer science, or comparable long-term professional experience
At least five years of professional experience in network engineering and firewalls
Knowledge of IT baseline protection (IT-Grundschutz) and demonstrable knowledge of current security technologies relevant to the role
Comprehensive knowledge of network, firewall, routing, VPN and site connectivity
Experience with architecture and configuration from common vendors (e.g., Check Point, Aruba, Cisco)
Experience in Windows administration (Server, Hyper-V, Exchange, Active Directory and backup) in an on-premises environment
Well-groomed demeanor and very good German language skills (C2 level)
Friendly and confident manner when dealing with users and colleagues
Curiosity and an understanding of everyday challenges
