About the role

  • Support and advise researchers on the proper preparation and submission of applications for third-party funded projects in the areas of grant funding and contract research
  • Financial controlling of ongoing projects
  • Coordinate change requests and transfers of funds with the project-implementing units and various third-party funders
  • Perform grant-law and financial reviews and approve funding requests
  • Ensure liquidity by requesting funds and issuing invoices
  • Prepare expenditure reports for grants and/or settle third-party funding contracts
  • Handle audits by grant providers
  • Address budgetary and grant-law issues as well as general business administration questions
  • General administrative tasks, e.g., maintaining project files

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or a degree from a University of Applied Sciences, preferably in business administration, business law or administrative law, or completed commercial vocational training in administration/finance
  • Relevant professional experience in finance/controlling
  • Experience in third-party funding administration and knowledge of national—and ideally also European—budgetary and grant law are desirable
  • Strong numerical aptitude, ability to work independently, flexibility, sense of responsibility, and strong interpersonal and communication skills with a willingness to work in a team
  • Proficient with MS Office products, especially Microsoft Excel
  • Business-fluent German
