About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Ensure reliable execution of the engineering organization and own the processes, methods, and tools needed for high-quality, fast-paced delivery
- Drive execution discipline across programs with resource planning, milestone tracking, process assurance, change control, and design-to-production handover
- Own engineering-wide planning, including resource allocation, forecasting, capacity planning, and headcount across programs
- Track and report engineering KPIs, including budget, cost, earned value, schedule adherence, and quality, to leadership
- Define and continuously improve requirements management, change control, configuration management, and verification and validation processes
- Improve the engineering toolchain, infrastructure, and methods
- Manage configuration managers, quality assurance, process and method engineers, and Engineering PMO
- Ensure compliance with applicable standards and development requirements, including STANAG, DO160G, DO178C, DO254, and export control
- Support hiring, onboarding, and skills development across engineering
- Work closely with the CTO, engineering management, and program leadership
Requirements
What you’ll need- Strong soft skills to implement necessary processes and methods across a fast-growing, changing organization
- 10+ years of experience in engineering or program/operations roles in aerospace, defense, or similar hardware industry
- 3+ years of experience in a leadership position
- Degree in engineering (aerospace, mechanical, electrical, or similar); business qualification a plus
- Proven track record running engineering planning, processes, and execution across multiple concurrent programs
- Hands-on experience with PLM/PDM and ERP systems, configuration management, and engineering change control
- Strong analytical skills and comfort building KPIs, budgets, and capacity models
- Excellent stakeholder management across engineering, production, supply chain, and executive leadership
- Eligible to work with export-controlled defense technology
- Fluent in English; German a plus
