About the role
- Act as the technical authority within the procurement team evaluating suppliers based on manufacturing capability aerospace standards and production maturity
- Work hands on with suppliers during part development and industrialization ensuring designs are robust manufacturable and ready for series production
- Review and challenge manufacturing processes tooling choices materials and tolerances to optimize cost quality and lead time
- Translate engineering drawings specifications and requirements into clear actionable supplier documentation
- Support make or buy decisions by assessing technical feasibility production risks and cost drivers
- Lead technical discussions with suppliers during RFQs supplier selection and contract award phases
- Drive cost reduction initiatives through design for manufacturability value engineering and process optimization
- Collaborate closely with design engineering production quality and supply chain teams to align technical and commercial objectives
Requirements
- Engineering degree in mechanical aerospace industrial or a related field
- 5+ years of experience in manufacturing environments with direct exposure to production and industrialization.
- Proven track record working with suppliers on technical topics including manufacturing processes materials and cost optimization
- Strong ability to read interpret and challenge technical drawings specifications and tolerances
- Deep understanding of manufacturing processes such as machining sheet metal composites or assembly
- Experience supporting supplier qualification audits first article inspections and production ramp ups
- Ability to identify cost drivers and lead design for manufacturability and value engineering initiatives
- Comfortable leading technical discussions with suppliers and internal stakeholders
- Experience working in regulated environments with strict quality and documentation requirements
- Strong problem-solving skills with a hands-on mindset in production driven settings
- English and Spanish fluency is our working language.
