About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Partner Management: Lead and develop a portfolio of key airline accounts focused on the US market, both domestic and international.
  • Sourcing Negotiations: Negotiate contracts, content agreements (NDC/GDS), and incentive structures to maximize profitability.
  • Market Strategy: Identify business opportunities and trends in the US airline market to develop joint commercial initiatives.
  • Regional Point of Contact: Act as a bridge between US-based airlines and our internal Product, Revenue Management, and Marketing teams.
  • Impact Analysis: Monitor sales KPIs, market share, and fare competitiveness to ensure Gross Bookings (GB) growth.
  • Sales Innovation: Work collaboratively with other areas (e.g., Hotels/Packages) to develop combined products and exclusive offers.
  • Business Unit Development: Partner with Despegar's various business units (B2B, B2B2C, Koin, etc.) to offer our full product suite to airlines.
  • Representation: Serve as the company ambassador to international airline partners.

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Location & Mobility: Current US residence OR Mexico residence with availability to travel frequently to the US. (Must have necessary documentation for recurring international travel)
  • Experience: Strong background in the airline industry, corporate travel management companies (TMCs), or tourism sector, with specific focus on commercial management or sourcing.
  • Market Knowledge: Familiarity with the US airline ecosystem (competitive dynamics, hubs, regulations).
  • Languages: Native/Professional/Fluent English (required). Spanish proficiency is mandatory due to regional scope.
  • Commercial Profile: Strong negotiation skills, business hunting abilities, and strategic business vision.
  • Digital Mindset: Ability to work with AI tools for process optimization.
  • Adaptability: Previous experience working in international or regional environments.
