About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Advise clients and partners to help them position, plan, develop, execute and monitor strategic projects and initiatives
  • Develop and update policies, standards, models and programs to support the unit’s strategic projects and initiatives
  • Identify, analyze, diagnose and address major issues and make recommendations to decision-making bodies
  • Monitor the industry to understand and anticipate trends and make recommendations to develop best practices for the organization
  • Represent the unit before senior management committees and decision-making bodies
  • Represent and negotiate on behalf of Desjardins and enter the organization into agreements with external partners and organizations
  • Lead and influence development projects and complex, highly innovative strategic initiatives involving multiple sectors
  • Serve as expert advisor, subject matter expert, resource person and coach for senior management and decision-making bodies

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor's degree in a related field
  • A minimum of eight years of relevant experience
  • Other combinations of qualifications and relevant experience may be considered
  • Knowledge of French is required
  • Advanced proficiency of English
  • Ability to advise on operationally and conceptually complex projects and initiatives
  • Extensive knowledge of the relevant field
  • Strategic project and initiative planning, execution and monitoring
  • Policy, standards, models and program development
  • Industry trend monitoring and best-practice development
  • Negotiation and agreement execution with external partners and organizations
