About the role

  • Develop, implement and track the unit’s action plan, ensuring alignment with the organization’s strategic directions and other administrative units, with a focus on performance management.
  • Establish management and communication practices that support change management, talent attraction and retention, skills development, employee engagement and diversity, in keeping with Desjardins’s values.
  • Manage settlement activities for short- and long-term disability claims in the target segment, ensuring consistent quality of service nationwide.
  • Identify operational issues and propose innovative solutions to improve efficiency and control unit costs.
  • Stay in close contact with the project team to identify implementation issues and adjust practices in real time.
  • Help with organizing work and operational planning to support your immediate supervisor.
  • Foster collaboration between teams by helping internal teams understand the new team’s role.
  • Closely follow performance indicators (KPIs) to assess quality of service and improve processes.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in administration or a related field
  • A minimum of six years of relevant experience, including experience as a manager and in disability management
  • Experience in demonstrating influential leadership with peers, managers, team members and other contributors to lead this change
  • Experience in innovative management, including the ability to rethink established practices, introduce new ways of doing things and spearhead organizational changes
  • Experience with solutions-focused work and close collaboration with the project team
  • Experience in a management role requiring a great deal of adaptability to quickly adjust practices and strategies as organizational needs, priorities or the environment change
  • Strong communication skills in both French and English, both oral and written due to the nature of the duties or work tools or because the position involves interactions with english-speaking partners, members and/or clients
