About the role

  • Maintaining daily logs of system events
  • Providing immediate verbal notifications of unusual activities to the appropriate personnel
  • Preparing daily power nominations and reports
  • Overseeing the safe and reliable operations of wind, solar farm and battery assets
  • Monitoring real-time power output, performance, and energy yield of each generating facility
  • Maintaining availability levels at each renewable energy site as well as following curtailment directives from entities
  • Scheduling and coordinating the load levels of power plant generation to maintain system integrity
  • Performing a variety of administrative duties
  • Being responsible for EH&S and other relevant compliance requirements
  • Maintaining effective communication with wind and solar entities, ROC QSE, power off takers, and OEM wind providers

Requirements

  • High School/GED
  • 2 years of equivalent experience
  • Associate or Bachelor’s degree in business, engineering, or relevant field desired
  • Ability to work independently or in a team environment
  • Exhibits leadership characteristics
  • Good interpersonal and communication skills
  • Advanced knowledge of the company’s energy management system
  • Detailed knowledge of power systems, including transmission, load control, voltage control, frequency control, automatic generation control, and NERC performance standards
  • Knowledge of generating unit operations, engineering, or maintenance practices
  • Additional years of renewable generation dispatching experience are strongly preferred and will be given preference over other power industry experience
  • Experience with multiple wind turbine supplier and solar PV technology desired
