About the role
- Maintaining daily logs of system events
- Providing immediate verbal notifications of unusual activities to the appropriate personnel
- Preparing daily power nominations and reports
- Overseeing the safe and reliable operations of wind, solar farm and battery assets
- Monitoring real-time power output, performance, and energy yield of each generating facility
- Maintaining availability levels at each renewable energy site as well as following curtailment directives from entities
- Scheduling and coordinating the load levels of power plant generation to maintain system integrity
- Performing a variety of administrative duties
- Being responsible for EH&S and other relevant compliance requirements
- Maintaining effective communication with wind and solar entities, ROC QSE, power off takers, and OEM wind providers
Requirements
- High School/GED
- 2 years of equivalent experience
- Associate or Bachelor’s degree in business, engineering, or relevant field desired
- Ability to work independently or in a team environment
- Exhibits leadership characteristics
- Good interpersonal and communication skills
- Advanced knowledge of the company’s energy management system
- Detailed knowledge of power systems, including transmission, load control, voltage control, frequency control, automatic generation control, and NERC performance standards
- Knowledge of generating unit operations, engineering, or maintenance practices
- Additional years of renewable generation dispatching experience are strongly preferred and will be given preference over other power industry experience
- Experience with multiple wind turbine supplier and solar PV technology desired
