About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Ensure a fleet of drivers and vehicles adheres to all federal and state Department of Transportation regulations.
Manage driver files, including physical exams, licenses, and insurance records.
Ensure compliance with regulations like Hours of Service and conduct random drug and alcohol testing.
Develop and implement safety programs, provide driver training, and perform performance evaluations.
Ensure vehicles are properly maintained, registered, and compliant with safety standards.
Prepare and maintain detailed records and assist with audits and investigations.
Track and report on compliance metrics, including accident data and driver logs.
Manage tolls.

Requirements

What you’ll need

Strong knowledge of DOT/FMCSA regulations, including Hours of Service, driver qualifications, and hazardous materials.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint) and web-based systems like FMCSA's DataQ.
Excellent communication (written and oral), interpersonal, and organizational skills are crucial.
Prior experience in transportation, logistics, or a compliance-related role is often preferred.
A bachelor's degree in a related field is frequently preferred, but not required; experience could override the bachelor's degree.
