About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Provide housing and maintenance supports to Housing First tenants
  • Set up properties and conduct handovers
  • Monitor, maintain, and review properties
  • Keep Housing First colleagues informed of property handover progress and occupancy readiness timelines
  • Draw up tenancy agreements and explain both parties’ responsibilities to tenants
  • Arrange tenancy agreement signatures
  • Assist tenants with Rent Supplement, Household Budget, and Standing Order forms
  • Deliver pre-tenancy training
  • Set rents and conduct annual rent reviews
  • Monitor rent payments monthly
  • Work with tenants to uphold responsibilities and sustain tenancies
  • Work within the overall objectives of the Housing First Service
  • Produce reports on managed tenancies
  • Maintain accurate electronic and hard-copy filing systems
  • Provide flexibility to cover other staff roles and undertake additional responsibilities as required

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience in Tenancy Engagement, Housing and/or Homeless Services (essential)
  • Willingness to travel around Dublin (essential)
  • Experience working with homeless individuals and those with complex support needs
  • Minimum of 1 year of regular use of IT systems
  • Good proficiency in Excel, Word, and databases
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Good organisational and time-management skills
  • Experience working with other support providers, such as Homeless Services and SLI (desirable)
  • Understanding of why people become homeless or may be at risk of homelessness, particularly issues related to substance misuse (desirable)
  • Respect for Depaul’s values and beliefs and those of its founding partners

  • Commitment to providing quality housing standards for tenants
  • Independent and self-motivated
  • Qualification in Social Care or a related field is desirable, not required
