About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Provide care to all healthcare consumers under general supervision
- Apply critical thinking, evidence-based practices, and competence to collaborate with the health care team
- Maintain a broad and comprehensive nursing scope of practice that includes infant, pediatric, and Adult clinical care
- Maintain a broad and comprehensive nursing scope of practice that includes preventive care, emergent care/crisis response, triage skills, general acute care skills, and behavioral health skills
- Monitor, record and report symptoms and changes in patient’s condition and vital signs
- Maintain accurate, detailed reports and records
- Direct and supervise less skilled nursing/health care personnel
- Prepare patients for, and assist with examinations and treatments
- Assess the needs of individuals, families and/or communities to identify potential health or safety problems
- Instruct individuals and families on health education and disease prevention and after care
Requirements
What you’ll need- Associate's Degree Required
- 1-3 years of experience in a direct patient care setting Required
- One year experience in a direct patient care setting Required
- Less than 1 year Correctional Care experience preferred
- BLS-Basic Life Support (BLS/CPR) - AHA - American Heart Association or American Red Cross Required
- RN-Registered Nurse - DORA - Department of Regulatory Agencies Required
- Adherence to Standards of Professional Nursing Practice/ Process / Performance [ANA Standards addendum- signed] and accrediting body standards.
- Demonstrates knowledge and applicability of the principles of growth and development over the life span
- Ability to use medical equipment and instruments to administer patient care.
- Microsoft Office Suite required.
- EPIC documentation preferred.
