About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Sets up, operates and tends to grinding machines and related tools that produce fluted endodontic files
Studies shop orders, DHRs and work instructions to determine product specifications, tool requirements, and operational sequences
Sets and adjusts machine controls according to product specifications
Activates machine start-up switches to grind, lap, hone, debar, shear, or cut work pieces, according to specifications
Observes machine operations to detect any problems and makes necessary adjustments to correct problems
Inspects or measures endodontics files to determine conformance to required specifications
Operates 6-8 CNC Machine Files New Beckhoff (MKNBs)
Performs machine Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) at start-up
Selects machine tooling and changeover details to be used
Maintains housekeeping (5S and 6S)
Performs other tasks related to competence as needed

Requirements

What you’ll need

High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED) preferred
Six months work experience and/or training on metal machines preferred
Minimum of six months to 1 year machine operation experience or equivalent technical work/education experience
Knowledge of machines and tools, including their design, uses, repair and maintenance
Ability to quickly and repeatedly adjust the controls of a machine to exact positioning
Knowledge of raw materials, production processes, quality control, and other techniques for maximizing the effective manufacturing and distribution of goods
The ability to tell when something is wrong or is likely to go wrong
Detailed oriented and self-motivated
Works well under pressure, can multitask and time management
Ability to read and interpret documents such as procedural documents and safety instructions
Ability to write simple correspondence
Ability to effectively and clearly communicate one-on-one and in small group settings
Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as percentages, area, circumference and volume
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral or diagram form
Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations
Basic computer skills such as data entry, manufacturing software, email and internet applications
