About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Reporting to the Canada Director, Pricing & Legal Project Management
Supporting partners across the full pricing lifecycle
Developing matter budgets and Alternative Fee Arrangements (AFAs)
Monitoring budget-to-actuals and matter profitability for ongoing matters
Developing pricing-related reporting for firm leadership
Acting as a trusted advisor to partners on pricing, scoping, and budget management
Delivering training and coaching to lawyers on commercial pricing concepts
Building relationships with key client contacts in procurement and legal operations
Conducting post-matter reviews and feeding lessons learned back into pricing methodology

Requirements

What you’ll need

Minimum 3-5 years of experience in legal pricing, legal finance, legal operations, or a related commercial role
Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, business, economics, mathematics, or a related discipline
Understanding of law firm economics, including realization, leverage, and matter profitability concepts
Demonstrated experience designing and managing budgets and AFAs in a law firm or in-house legal environment
Strong financial modelling and analytical skills, with advanced Excel proficiency
Experience working with legal practice management systems (e.g. Elite 3E, Intapp, Aderant, Fulcrum SAP, etc.) and BI tools (e.g. Power BI)
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Track record of influencing senior stakeholders without direct authority
