About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Act on behalf of several of Australia's major banks and non-bank lenders on secured and unsecured recovery matters
Manage a portfolio of files
Work alongside lawyers in the team with an emphasis on compliance and quality assurance
Start to end file management
Preparing and issuing legal documents, including statutory notices and court documents
Acting as first point of contact for clients, maintaining regular communications via specialised online web-based portal
Outbound and inbound calls with defaulting customers, including liaising directly with customers in relation to sensitive financial matters with the aim to come to suitable arrangements
Working with lawyers to progress matters through Courts

Requirements

What you’ll need

Be well organised, with strong time-management and prioritisation skills
Can work independently, whilst also in a friendly team environment under supportive partners, with on-the-job training to help you along the way
Be self-motivated and driven, with a professional outlook
Be able to work under pressure and deal with sensitive matters in a timely manner
Have superior drafting skills and strong attention to detail
Have excellent communication skills (verbal and written), with a professional phone manner
Prior law firm experience is not a pre-requisite although applicants with secured or unsecured recoveries experience will be favourably considered
Law students should only apply if they have 2 years (or more) left on their degree and they can commit to full time working hours.
