About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Act on behalf of several of Australia's major banks and non-bank lenders on secured and unsecured recovery matters
- Manage a portfolio of files
- Work alongside lawyers in the team with an emphasis on compliance and quality assurance
- Start to end file management
- Preparing and issuing legal documents, including statutory notices and court documents
- Acting as first point of contact for clients, maintaining regular communications via specialised online web-based portal
- Outbound and inbound calls with defaulting customers, including liaising directly with customers in relation to sensitive financial matters with the aim to come to suitable arrangements
- Working with lawyers to progress matters through Courts
Requirements
What you’ll need- Be well organised, with strong time-management and prioritisation skills
- Can work independently, whilst also in a friendly team environment under supportive partners, with on-the-job training to help you along the way
- Be self-motivated and driven, with a professional outlook
- Be able to work under pressure and deal with sensitive matters in a timely manner
- Have superior drafting skills and strong attention to detail
- Have excellent communication skills (verbal and written), with a professional phone manner
- Prior law firm experience is not a pre-requisite although applicants with secured or unsecured recoveries experience will be favourably considered
- Law students should only apply if they have 2 years (or more) left on their degree and they can commit to full time working hours.
