About the role

  • Participate in clients' general accounting for the full accounting cycle;
  • Provide client support and assistance with month-end close processes;
  • Manage the client portfolios under your responsibility;
  • Analyze and prepare financial statements, including related reporting;
  • Support and train clients on accounting matters (recording journal entries; questions related to social and tax legislation, etc.);
  • Supervise, train and review the work of staff assigned to the advisor's engagements;
  • Act as the primary resource for special engagements requiring strong expertise (e.g., preparation of year-end files);
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of client procedures.

Requirements

  • Relevant post-secondary education in accounting;
  • Minimum of 5 years' experience in a similar role;
  • Experience in a public accounting firm;
  • Excellent knowledge of accounting software (such as QuickBooks Online, Acomba, Simple Comptable, QuickBooks, etc.) and the MS Office suite;
  • Knowledge of CaseWare and Taxprep software;
  • Knowledge of payroll processing and employee benefits;
  • Ability to manage multiple engagements simultaneously and strong prioritization skills;
  • Autonomy, rigor, dedicated team player, collaboration-oriented, and a strong commitment to delivering an optimal client experience are essential qualities for success in this role;
  • Bilingualism (oral and written);
  • Travel to client sites when required.
