About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Supporting month-end reporting processes and ensuring reporting deadlines are achieved
  • Preparing and taking ownership of balance sheet reconciliations
  • Producing Company, Departmental, and Regional Profit & Loss reports
  • Assisting with year-end statutory audit requirements and responding to audit requests
  • Supporting the preparation of statutory accounts, tax returns, and national statistics submissions
  • Assisting with annual budgeting and forecasting processes
  • Working closely with the analyst team to understand business performance drivers
  • Supporting financial analysis for new business initiatives and strategic projects
  • Conducting variance analysis and working with budget holders to review performance
  • Producing ad-hoc financial analysis and reporting to support business decision-making
  • Building strong working relationships with stakeholders across Head Office and field-based teams

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Actively studying towards an ACA, ACCA, or CIMA qualification
  • Strong Excel skills, including Pivot Tables and complex formulas
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities
  • Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills
  • Ability to manage priorities effectively and work independently
  • Strong communication skills with the confidence to work with both finance and non-finance colleagues
  • A genuine desire to learn and build a successful career within finance
  • Exposure to Power BI or other business intelligence tools is desirable
  • Experience using Microsoft Dynamics AX or similar ERP systems is desirable
  • Experience manipulating and analysing large data sets is desirable
