About the role
- Partner with business and technical data stewards to identify, define, and maintain data definitions and corresponding metadata across business functions and data domains, including business terms, reports, metrics, and key performance indicators (KPIs).
- Support the validation, standardization, and rationalization of reports to enhance the enterprise report catalog.
- Review, validate, and enrich the business glossary.
- Design and execute foundational analytics to monitor and maintain data quality and integrity.
- Collaborate with data owners and data stewards to develop and implement data requirements.
- Serve as a liaison between business and data/technology teams to apply data standards and governance processes, including data access, classification, quality, certification, metadata, lifecycle, and retention.
- Maintain data management processes, procedures, and guiding data principles.
- Provide business insight into data issues and collaborate with internal teams, Governance Councils, Committees, or ad hoc working groups to support issue resolution.
- Maintain a high level of proficiency with data governance tools and platforms.
- Coordinate business needs and collaborate cross-functionally with data stewards, compliance, product, and technology teams to support data governance and data management solutions.
- Ensure data-related policies, standards, and procedures are implemented, compliant, and consistently followed.
- Advise on policy implementation, standards development, and procedural improvements, escalating issues as needed.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree with 2+ years of experience in Data Governance, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Experience with data governance tools such as Collibra, Informatica, or similar platforms preferred.
- Demonstrated ability to analyze data and data structures, develop insights, and recommend business improvements.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to break down complex problems using data, assumptions, and sound judgment.
- Experience developing business requirements related to data systems, domains, and strategic frameworks.
- Comfortable defining and owning accountability for managing enterprise data.
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to clearly convey data requirements to support analysis.
- Ability to manage multiple projects efficiently with minimal supervision.
