About the role
- Design, develop, and maintain data models using tools like DBT to transform raw data into structured, analytics-ready datasets, ensuring accuracy and optimal performance for downstream consumption
- Build and manage insightful and reliable dashboards to facilitate self-service analytics for Product, Marketing, Sales, and Operations teams, enabling data-driven decision-making across the organisation
- Partner with cross-functional teams (Product, Marketing, Sales, Operations) to deeply understand their business needs, providing actionable insights and deep-dive analysis to drive business optimisation and support strategic projects.
- Collaborate closely with Data Engineers to define data pipelines, establish ingestion strategies, and implement robust data governance policies.
- Ensure data quality, reliability, and consistency through rigorous testing, monitoring, and validation processes, proactively identifying and resolving data discrepancies.
- Propose and implement continuous improvements to the data stack, enhance best practices, and maintain clear, up-to-date documentation.
Requirements
- 3+ years of experience in analytics, data engineering, or a similar data-focused role, preferably in a high-growth SaaS environment.
- Strong expertise in SQL, with practical experience working with large datasets (experience with BigQuery is ideal).
- Proven experience with data modelling and transformation tools like DBT, demonstrating an understanding of data pipeline orchestration and ETL concepts.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work effectively and communicate clearly with both technical and non-technical teams.
- A strong sense of ownership, quick learning ability, and a proactive approach to adapting to new challenges and technologies.
- Experience with data governance, testing, and monitoring best practices.
- Formal education in Computer Science, Data Science, or a related quantitative field, or equivalent work experience.
- Highly Desirable Skills: Experience with Python for data scripting and automation, proficiency in a visualisation tool like Looker, and knowledge of cloud platforms (GCP ideally).
