About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • The Process Safety Specialist provides technical services and guidance to support Process Safety improvement activities globally (with a focus on North America).
  • Responsible for proposing practical risk-reducing tactics and assisting clients in the interpretation and application of technical information.
  • Primarily responsible for providing a variety of process safety assessments, reviews, or evaluations for equipment, processes, or procedures at a client’s facility or remotely.
  • Perform on team projects and independently on projects or tasks.
  • Develop technical reports as required.
  • Perform technical reviews for peers which could include marketing papers, presentations, reports, etc.

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • BS (or Higher) in Engineering (Chemical, Mechanical, or Fire Protection) or other safety-related field
  • EIT or Safety-related designation preferred (CSP, CFEI, CCPSC, PE, etc.)
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in the field of process safety
  • Experience with Combustible Dust, Flammable, and/or other Hazardous Materials is preferred
  • Experience and strong knowledge in safety-related areas (PSM, RMP, combustible dust, chemical reaction hazards, flammable liquids/gases, etc.)
  • Strong knowledge of relevant safety standards and regulations (NFPA, Building & Fire Codes, OSHA, etc.)
  • Strong personal communications and leadership skills
  • Must be able to work well under pressure within a team environment
  • Must deliver reports and analysis documents within time-driven deadlines
