About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Build, configure, maintain, and decommission IPsec VPN tunnels between private cloud infrastructure and customer networks
  • Monitor VPN performance, troubleshoot connectivity issues, and ensure high availability
  • Maintain documentation for VPN configurations, standards, and procedures
  • Coordinate with internal teams and external customers to implement secure connectivity solutions
  • Participate in an on-call rotation and respond to outages or critical incidents
  • Assist with deployment, configuration, and management of hardware firewalls at remote office locations
  • Support firewall rule creation, updates, and troubleshooting under senior staff guidance
  • Assist with deployment and configuration of WiFi networks in remote offices
  • Provide remote management and support for branch network infrastructure
  • Troubleshoot network performance issues, including bandwidth and connectivity
  • Assist the Senior Network Engineer with network-related projects
  • Support network testing, documentation, and implementation of new network solutions
  • Assist with packet capture collection, basic analysis, and troubleshooting documentation
  • Escalate urgent or complex issues to senior network and IT leadership
  • Report to the Greenville data center within one hour when required for production support, incident response, maintenance, hardware support, or other business needs

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Networking, or related field, or equivalent experience
  • Entry-level certifications such as Network+ or similar are preferred
  • Exposure to firewall technologies such as Fortinet, Palo Alto, Juniper, or similar
  • Basic understanding of TCP/IP, DNS, routing protocols, and switching
  • Basic knowledge of wireless networking concepts
  • Familiarity with IPsec VPN tunnels
  • Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills
  • Ability to follow documentation and standard operating procedures
  • Ability to communicate clearly with internal teams, vendors, and customers
  • Ability to participate in an on-call rotation and support network incidents as needed
  • Ability to report to the Greenville, South Carolina data center within one hour when required
  • Ability to travel domestically and internationally up to 25%
  • Ability to drive a vehicle and use other forms of transportation
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds occasionally
  • Compliance with employment laws, company policies, data privacy, safety, and confidentiality standards
