Senior Legal Counsel – Construction, Commercial

About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Draft, review, and negotiate contracts with clients, subcontractors, and suppliers in line with commercial objectives and internal policies
- Manage the full contract lifecycle, including documentation, amendments, and performance tracking
- Support the management of commercial agreements such as leases and software contracts
- Work closely with People teams to ensure employment law compliance across multiple jurisdictions
- Act as a point of contact for external counsel and coordinate legal advice where required
- Prepare clear, concise contract and risk reports for senior management
- Collaborate with project and finance teams to ensure smooth contract execution
- Monitor legal and regulatory developments relevant to construction and infrastructure projects, including sustainability-related topics
- Support and mentor junior team members on contract management best practices
Requirements
What you’ll need- Fully qualified lawyer in Germany (Volljurist:in)
- 5–7 years’ experience in construction, infrastructure, or project-based environments
- Strong knowledge of international contract frameworks such as FIDIC, with experience handling claims and EOT matters
- Familiarity with German standard forms (VOB/B, BGB) is advantageous
- Broad understanding of commercial, employment, and corporate law
- Fluent in German and English
- Strong negotiation skills with a clear, pragmatic communication style
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced, international environment
