Lead clients through a structured payroll implementation journey for South Africa and broader African region
Assess current payroll processes, business structures, and compliance requirements
Translate client requirements into Deel Local Payroll configurations (pay rules, earning/deduction codes, employee groups, security roles)
Create comprehensive documentation for requirements, configurations, and project changes
Design and execute data migration strategies; cleanse, validate, and map client data; oversee test migrations
Lead parallel runs (side-by-side payroll comparisons) and investigate discrepancies
Provide first live run support, resolving issues in real time and ensuring compliance
Manage a client portfolio to ensure timely, high-quality payroll implementations and meet monthly billable hours goals
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure payroll processes are efficient and aligned with business objectives
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Commerce (BCom), Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field (Postgraduate qualification or certification like PMP is a plus)
3+ years of proven experience in payroll system implementation
Strong understanding of South African payroll laws and compliance standards
Experience with various payroll systems and software
Ability and interest in client-facing project management
Excellent communication and collaboration skills
Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
Ability to work well under pressure and meet tight deadlines
Ability to speak, read, and write English fluently (application asks for English fluency)
