About the role
- Work on a user-facing software application with a complex data model and large data sets
- Participate in all stages of the SDLC: solution shaping, system design, ticket writing/breakdown, write full-stack code, review code, perform deployments, participate in monitoring, and gather data for reporting
- Own quality of work by writing tests and ensuring functionality before release
- Collaborate cross-functionally with product, design, and engineering teams
- Deploy and monitor applications, use feature flags, and work with a small infrastructure team
- Mentor others and help scope work to deliver quickly and correctly
Requirements
- 5+ years of related professional experience
- Experience with Ruby on Rails, React, and PostgreSQL or similar tools
- Experience writing tests
- Ability to write performant code for large data sets
- Understanding of SQL database design and querying
- Experience monitoring and fixing application performance
- Mentoring skills to guide team on performance
- Front End, Back End and Database experience
