About the role

  • Work on a user-facing software application with a complex data model and large data sets
  • Participate in all stages of the SDLC: solution shaping, system design, ticket writing/breakdown, write full-stack code, review code, perform deployments, participate in monitoring, and gather data for reporting
  • Own quality of work by writing tests and ensuring functionality before release
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with product, design, and engineering teams
  • Deploy and monitor applications, use feature flags, and work with a small infrastructure team
  • Mentor others and help scope work to deliver quickly and correctly

Requirements

  • 5+ years of related professional experience
  • Experience with Ruby on Rails, React, and PostgreSQL or similar tools
  • Experience writing tests
  • Ability to write performant code for large data sets
  • Understanding of SQL database design and querying
  • Experience monitoring and fixing application performance
  • Mentoring skills to guide team on performance
  • Front End, Back End and Database experience
