About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Overseeing all aspects of health records
- Ensuring the integrity, confidentiality, and accessibility of health records
- Managing HIM staff performance and timely training
- Acting as a key liaison for internal and external customers for medical record processes
- Adapting departmental operations to evolving regulatory requirements
- Supporting special projects
Requirements
What you’ll need- Associate's degree, HIM required
- Bachelor's degree, HIM preferred
- RHIA or RHIT credential preferred
- 3–5 years of experience in Health Information Management or medical records operations required
- 2+ years of supervisory or leadership experience in a healthcare setting preferred
- Strong knowledge of HIM regulations, including HIPAA, record retention, CMS Conditions of Participation, and Joint Commission standards
- Proficiency with EPIC (or comparable EHR), including reporting tools, work queues, data quality review, and workflow troubleshooting
- Ability to interpret and apply regulatory requirements to HIM operations
- Skilled in analyzing data, developing KPIs, and monitoring productivity metrics
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook, Teams)
