About the role
- Lead discovery and requirements-gathering workshops to understand user needs, business goals, and technical constraints
- Translate complex concepts into clear user flows, journey maps, wireframes, prototypes, and high-fidelity designs
- Partner with Product and Engineering to define and deliver solutions across the full product lifecycle
- Facilitate and evolve the product vision through user research, ideation, prototyping, and usability testing
- Design and deliver experiences optimised for mobile, tablet, and desktop (responsive & mobile-first)
- Identify UX problems in new and existing products and propose thoughtful, evidence-based solutions
- Evaluate existing applications and continuously improve usability, accessibility, and overall experience
- Use analytics, insights, and testing results to inform design decisions and measure impact
- Ensure designs meet usability, accessibility (WCAG), and brand standards
- Collaborate closely with front-end developers to ensure high-quality implementation and design integrity
- Contribute to and help evolve design systems, patterns, and best practices
- Communicate design rationale clearly to stakeholders at all levels, from C-suite to delivery teams
- Comply with Risk and Compliance frameworks, policies, and procedures relevant to the role
Requirements
- 5+ years’ experience in UX/UI or Product Design roles
- Strong portfolio demonstrating end-to-end design thinking and problem solving
- Degree in Design (Graphic, Product, Industrial, Architecture or similar) or equivalent professional experience
- Deep understanding of user-centred design (UCD) principles and methodologies
- Proven experience planning and conducting user research, usability testing, A/B testing, and rapid prototyping
- Strong knowledge of responsive, mobile-first design approaches
- Experience working within agile, cross-functional product teams
- Ability to influence design direction and contribute to product and organisational strategy
- Excellent stakeholder management and facilitation skills
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and critical-thinking abilities
- Ability to synthesise complex information into clear, actionable design solutions
- Excellent communication skills, both visual and verbal
- Expertise in industry-standard design tools (e.g. Figma, FigJam)
- Experience creating low- and high-fidelity prototypes
- Familiarity with design systems and component-based design
- Understanding of accessibility standards and inclusive design principles
- Basic HTML/CSS/JavaScript knowledge is a plus, but not essential
- Experience designing and maintaining cross-platform design systems (nice to have)
- Experience programming and the ability to code simple prototype (nice to have)
- Experience in interactive design, animation (nice to have)
- Experience designing complex enterprise or platform products (nice to have)
- Experience working in regulated, fast-paced environments (nice to have)
