About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Plan, implement, and support LAN/WAN and wireless technologies
  • Provide technical leadership in LAN/WAN networks and day-to-day network technical support for multiple clients
  • Plan, implement, and support network solutions for existing and new clients
  • Provide customer support to existing and potential customers
  • Diagnose, triage, and resolve network-related incidents
  • Assist with LAN/WAN projects and service incidents
  • Communicate with vendors regarding network requirements and troubleshooting
  • Document, track, and monitor network-related problems through resolution
  • Perform proactive maintenance and maintain network infrastructure documentation
  • Train and develop knowledge of new technologies, processes, and systems
  • Maintain and update required technical certifications
  • Work flexible hours for after-hours upgrades and customer-network emergencies

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • 3+ years of experience working with enterprise-grade network infrastructure in a corporate environment
  • 3+ years of experience in a similar role with a Managed Services Provider
  • Firm understanding of network fundamentals, LAN/WAN technologies, and network infrastructure services including DNS, DHCP, RADIUS, and Syslog
  • Knowledge of VPN technologies including L2L, Remote VPN, PPTP, and Client VPN
  • Knowledge of RADIUS and TACACS+
  • Knowledge of sniffer traces and interpretation
  • Working experience with routing protocols including OSPF, EIGRP, BGP, and multicast
  • Working experience with WAN technologies including MetroE, VPLS, PTP links, and MPLS
  • Understanding of QoS technologies including L2 QoS, L3 QoS, LLQ, CBWFQ, policing, and traffic shaping
  • Working knowledge of server, endpoint, and telephony technologies
  • Project management capability for multitasking network projects and prioritizing tasks
  • Ability to prepare documentation with Microsoft Visio
  • Team collaboration, self-motivation, and passion for working toward common goals
  • Strong aptitude for learning new technologies and applying them in customer environments
  • Excellent interpersonal communication and customer service skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Certification: ACIS 7720; CCNA
  • Ability to work flexible hours for after-hours upgrades and customer-network emergencies
  • Ability to perform physical duties including standing, walking, climbing, driving, and lifting/carrying up to 50 pounds frequently and up to 100 pounds occasionally
