About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Process release of information, specifically medical record requests, accurately and efficiently
  • Receive and process requests for patient health information according to Company and Facility policies and procedures
  • Maintain confidentiality and security of privileged information
  • Apply medical privacy regulations and safeguard against unauthorized disclosure
  • Manage patient health records and ensure HIPAA compliance
  • Prepare new patient charts using paper sources and/or electronic health records
  • Assemble medical records in standard order and ensure they are accurate and complete
  • Create digital images of paperwork for storage in electronic medical records
  • Retrieve and appropriately transmit patient records to internal and external requestors
  • Answer inbound and outbound calls and provide medical record status
  • Document information in multiple platforms using two computer monitors
  • Assist with patient walk-ins, faxes, mail, data entry, and pickup scheduling as needed
  • Inform the manager of work, site difficulties, and fluctuating volumes
  • Meet site-specific productivity expectations and perform other assigned duties

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Ability to commute between locations as needed
  • Ability to work overtime during peak seasons when required
  • Basic computer proficiency
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Word and Excel
  • Comfortable using phones, fax machines, printers, and general office equipment
  • Professional verbal and written communication skills in English
  • Strong data entry skills
  • Detail- and quality-oriented approach to accurate, compliant medical records
  • Ability to work with minimum supervision and respond to changing priorities
  • Ability to organize and manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment
  • Must meet productivity expectations
