About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Define the long-term product vision, strategy, roadmap, and success metrics for Datavant’s Legal & Insurance vertical
  • Translate a complex, fragmented market into a coherent product strategy across requester experience, retrieval workflows, fulfillment, integrations, and record analysis
  • Shape product architecture, including workflows, data models, platform capabilities, partner integrations, and AI-enabled experiences
  • Partner with executive leadership on opportunities, priorities, investment decisions, and organizational alignment
  • Build scalable products for attorneys, copy services, insurers, and other requesters across enterprise and small/mid-sized customer segments
  • Collaborate with engineering, data science, analytics, operations, design, and commercial teams from strategy through execution
  • Convert operational friction into product capabilities and custom workflows into scalable platform patterns
  • Develop AI-powered tools for extracting, summarizing, structuring, and acting on medical-record insights
  • Establish metrics, feedback loops, and operating rhythms to improve retrieval speed, completeness, transparency, quality, customer satisfaction, and operational efficiency
  • Serve as product thought leader and mentor to other product managers

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • 8–12+ years of product management experience leading complex, enterprise-grade, data-centric products
  • Demonstrated ability to define product strategy in ambiguous spaces and influence company-level direction
  • Experience building products combining workflow, data, integrations, operations, and user experience into scalable systems
  • Strong systems thinking and ability to turn messy workflows into durable product architecture
  • Experience with healthcare data, data exchange, retrieval, workflow automation, platform products, or regulated data products
  • Experience in legal, insurance, medical record retrieval, claims, risk adjustment, clinical data, or AI-enabled document analysis is a bonus
  • Comfort designing products in highly regulated, high-stakes environments
  • Strong technical fluency and credibility with engineering, data science, and analytics teams
  • Ability to use data, customer insight, and business judgment for prioritization and investment decisions
  • Executive-level communication skills
  • Ability to create clarity, mentor others, and drive execution
  • Entrepreneurial mindset and comfort with ambiguity
  • Collaborative, low-ego leadership style
