About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Schedule: M - F 8 - 4:30
  • Conduct structured audits of ROI (Release of Information) requests to ensure accuracy, completeness, and proper medical record fulfillment
  • Review pended and completed requests to verify data integrity and correct record capture in systems (e.g., HealthSource)
  • Ensure compliance with HIPAA, HITECH, state/federal regulations, and client-specific requirements
  • Evaluate end-to-end request and fulfillment workflows for quality, accuracy, and adherence to SOPs
  • Document audit findings clearly, including errors, trends, and corrective recommendations
  • Identify, investigate, and resolve routine discrepancies; escalate complex or high-risk issues as needed
  • Analyze audit results to identify recurring patterns, systemic issues, and opportunities for process improvement
  • Provide actionable, audit-based feedback to operational teams to improve performance and
  • Maintain high standards for audit accuracy, documentation quality, and regulatory adherence
  • Meet established productivity targets and turnaround timelines for audits
  • Participate in calibration activities (e.g., interrater reliability sessions) to ensure consistency and alignment across auditors
  • Stay current on ROI regulations, fee structures, and facility-specific policies governing release of information

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Minimum 5 years in Release of Information (ROI) or health information operations.
  • High school diploma required; Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Health Information Management, Healthcare Administration, or related field strongly preferred.
