About the role
- Own the long-term strategic roadmap for inventory management across all traditional retrieval types.
- Define the enterprise operating model, governance structure, and planning philosophy to support Datavant’s scale and multi-product environment.
- Ensure alignment with corporate strategy, operational goals, financial targets, and customer experience objectives.
- Lead executive-level S&OP / IBP processes, ensuring cross-company alignment between demand, supply, capacity, and financial planning.
- Integrate planning cycles with broader organizational planning (e.g., annual operating planning, strategic planning, budgeting, performance cycles, etc)).
- Champion the adoption of advanced forecasting methods, ML models, and predictive analytics to elevate accuracy and responsiveness.
- Drive investments in next-generation planning tools, scenario modeling capabilities, and integrated data pipelines.
- Build organizational capability through coaching and leading a team of professionals.
- Serve as a senior advisor to executive leadership on all matters related to inventory strategy, demand planning, and performance.
- Establish enterprise-level KPIs, dashboards, and reporting structures for demand and supply planning performance.
- Communicate insights, risks, and strategic recommendations to senior executive audiences when needed.
- Drive accountability to meet service-level commitments, cost targets, and planning accuracy benchmarks.
- Lead transformation initiatives to modernize inventory operations, document, integrate automation, and improve end-to-end planning efficiency.
- Set standards for process excellence and continuous improvement across the function.
- Develop and oversee contingency strategies and risk mitigation frameworks for operational disruptions.
- Lead cross-functional response planning and escalation for major risk events, ensuring resilience and operational continuity.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in business, supply chain, analytics, operations, or related field; MBA or advanced degree strongly preferred.
- 10+ years of progressive experience in inventory management, demand forecasting, capacity planning, supply chain, or S&OP/IBP leadership roles.
- Proven experience setting enterprise-level strategy and leading large-scale planning transformations.
- Demonstrated ability to lead leaders, influence executives, and drive cross-company alignment.
- Strong strategic and analytical decision-making capabilities, with extensive experience in advanced forecasting and optimization solutions.
- Expertise with S&OP/IBP frameworks and enterprise planning tools; Anaplan mastery is a significant plus.
- Experience in multi-product, high-volume, complex operational environments.
- Track record of building high-performing teams and elevating organizational planning maturity.
- Exceptional executive communication skills and the ability to influence across all levels of the organization.
