About the role
- Lead end-to-end data solutions on Azure/Databricks, defining architecture, standards, and governance; accelerate teams and advise clients to deliver measurable business, cost, and security outcomes
- Design reference architectures (networking, security, data, and operations) and guide their implementation
- Conduct discovery sessions; transform requirements into a prioritized technical backlog
- Define and audit engineering standards (templates, repositories, tests) and governance (catalog, sensitive data handling, RLS)
- Plan capacity, cost, and reliability
- Diagnose complex issues (skew, shuffle spill, small files) and lead remediation efforts
- Mentor mid-level and junior engineers; foster a technical community and internal accelerators
- Liaise with business stakeholders, client security, and operations teams
- Support technical proposals, estimations, and roadmaps for evolution
Requirements
- DP-203 or DP-600 or DP-700 certification
- Intermediate to advanced English (B1/B2)
- Databricks Data Engineer Associate or Spark Developer certification
- Advanced Databricks experience (Delta Lake, Unity Catalog, Jobs/Workflows, performance and cost tuning)
- Governance: domains, contracts, data products, continuous data quality, lineage, Purview/Unity Catalog
- CI/CD and IaC; promoting changes across dev/test/prod environments and environment segregation
- Technical leadership and executive communication (trade-offs, risks, TCO/FinOps)
