About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • On-site and remote support for school networks and public educational institutions
  • Planning and advising on IT hardware, operating systems, network equipment, and concept development
  • Installing, configuring and administering Windows server environments (AD DS, DNS, DHCP, RDS, file and print servers), Windows client operating systems and software, NAS systems, backup software, network infrastructures (LAN, VLANs, WLAN, WAN) and peripherals (printers, digital boards, interactive whiteboards, etc.)
  • Analyzing faults and resolving them
  • Independently developing solutions and managing documentation
  • Repairing server and client hardware
  • Training teachers in the use of the systems

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Completed vocational training as an IT specialist for system integration (Fachinformatiker Systemintegration) or equivalent; alternatively career changers with work experience in a comparable role
  • Excellent technical knowledge of workplace systems (PCs, notebooks, tablets, printers, etc.)
  • Practical experience troubleshooting Windows operating systems
  • In-depth knowledge of current Microsoft client systems (from Windows 10)
  • Practical experience with Office applications from Office 2016 and ideally with Microsoft 365
  • At least basic knowledge of ITIL operational processes (certification not required) and experience with the operation and use of a ticketing system
  • Ideally solid knowledge of current Microsoft server systems from 2016 and of server virtualization based on Proxmox or VMware
  • Basic knowledge of network technology
  • Fluent German language skills and solid English skills
  • Ideally certification for the educational network MNS+ or iServ
  • Class B driver's license
