About the role

  • Independent analysis and resolution of faults in various applications on Windows and Linux servers
  • Evaluation and interpretation of event logs, log files and system messages
  • Execution and analysis of network traces (e.g., with Wireshark) to identify performance or communication issues
  • Close collaboration with business units, developers and external partners in the root cause analysis of complex incidents
  • Planning and execution of maintenance activities such as patching, certificate replacement or configuration adjustments
  • Maintenance and documentation of system environments and troubleshooting processes
  • Active participation in the development and automation of infrastructure and monitoring solutions
  • Support for the introduction of new systems and technical migration projects

Requirements

  • Completed vocational training or degree in IT or equivalent professional experience
  • Very good understanding of IT infrastructures, especially Windows and Linux servers (including services, networking, protocols)
  • Practical experience in application troubleshooting and working with logs and trace tools
  • Knowledge of network protocols (TCP/IP, HTTP/S, DNS, SSL/TLS)
  • Confident handling of certificates, patch management and automation (e.g., PowerShell, Bash)
  • Experience with monitoring and ticketing systems (e.g., Zabbix, CheckMK, Jira, USU)
  • Good communication skills and an analytical mindset
  • Independent, structured and solution-oriented way of working
  • Very good German skills, good English skills
  • For assignments in the German government sector, a security clearance according to SÜ1 or SÜ2 is required. Willingness to undergo this procedure is expected.
