About the role

  • You keep an overview of our license inventory across the entire DATAGROUP group — no matter how many vendors are involved.
  • You master our licensing systems and tools without letting them master you.
  • You ensure our IT systems are cleanly licensed — legally sound and economically sensible.
  • You develop licensing strategies that elegantly balance availability, compliance and costs.
  • You maintain the central contract and license database and produce reports.
  • You are the first point of contact for our DATAGROUP companies on all license-related questions.
  • You take on licensing management projects and reliably coordinate the threads between group companies and internal teams.
  • You support contract negotiations and license renewals — bringing technical expertise and strong relationships with internal and external partners.

Requirements

  • You have several years of experience in IT license management, ideally in a datacenter environment, and operate confidently in that context.
  • You are thoroughly familiar with the licensing models of Microsoft, VMware, SUSE/Red Hat and Citrix — you know what matters.
  • You have experience with software deployments while always keeping track of license usage and license costs.
  • You are well versed in contract negotiations and the relevant legal frameworks and act with confidence.
  • You apply your ITIL knowledge in a targeted and effective way.
  • You can quickly grasp complex issues, prepare them clearly and communicate them understandably.
  • You possess negotiation skills, strong analytical abilities and a solid conceptual understanding — accompanied by a professional demeanor.
  • Language skills: German at least C1 level; English negotiation-capable (business fluent).
