About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Lead the technical delivery of large-scale data platform and BI solutions
Design, implement, and own delivery of robust Data Platform and Insight solutions
Work with clients and business users to identify consulting opportunities
Elicit stakeholder requirements through facilitated workshops
Contribute to technical architecture, design, and delivery of modern data and insight platforms
Provide clients with thought leadership on data management and integration recommendations
Design relational and dimensional data models across data domains and industries
Design and deploy AI solutions for data migration, data modelling, application modernization, and data warehouse migrations
Perform performance tuning and optimisation on data platforms and insight solutions
Manage development life cycles using source code management tools and AI modernisation techniques
Design and develop customised self-service solutions using Power BI
Provide technical documentation, end-user training, and knowledge-transfer services to customers and internal teams
Collaborate with client stakeholders, Principal Consultants, Practice Leads, and Project Managers in a client-facing role

Requirements

What you’ll need

NZ citizens and residents only
New Zealand security clearances are desirable
Excellent consultation and stakeholder management skills
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Proven track record designing and building modern data platforms, including enterprise data warehouse migration experience
Advanced practical skills in Snowflake or Databricks
Deep experience with dbt, Azure/Fabric Data Factory, Coalesce, and Fivetran or Matillion
Advanced practical Python skills
Strong skills in Azure and AWS cloud platforms
Strong data platform design, implementation, configuration, performance, and cost-management skills
Strong Power BI, Power Query, SQL, and DAX semantic data-modelling skills
Advanced practical DevOps skills and knowledge of CI/CD pipelines, Git integration, and deployment automation
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related discipline
SnowPro and Coalesce certification, or Microsoft Azure/Fabric certified data engineer qualification
Minimum 7+ years' experience in EDW design and implementation
Minimum 7+ years' experience in ETL architecting and design
Minimum 7+ years' experience in data modelling, including star schema and Snowflake schema
Minimum 5+ years' experience in semantic layer development
Minimum 5+ years' experience in Power BI
