About the role
- Design end-to-end cloud architectures for toll transaction systems, payment gateways, and traffic data platforms
- Define cloud strategy (multi-cloud / hybrid cloud) aligned with business needs
- Select appropriate Azure/AWS/GCP services for compute, storage, networking, and security
- Create reference architectures, deployment patterns, and best practices
- Work with DevOps teams to implement Infrastructure-as-Code (Terraform, Bicep, ARM templates)
- Integrate toll systems with cloud-native services (databases, messaging queues, monitoring)
- Oversee containerization & orchestration (Kubernetes/AKS/EKS)
- Implement cloud security best practices and ensure compliance with government transport standards, PCI-DSS, and ISO 27001
- Design backup, disaster recovery, and business continuity strategies
- Ensure high availability and optimize cloud costs; set SLAs, SLOs, and SLIs with SRE teams
- Collaborate with business leaders; provide technical leadership and mentorship
- Evaluate new technologies and vendors for potential adoption
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Cloud Architect / Senior Cloud Engineer
- Hands-on expertise with Azure (preferred for govt/transport), AWS, or GCP
- Strong knowledge of Kubernetes, containers, serverless, and microservices
- Experience with payment systems, APIs, or real-time transaction platforms (big plus)
- Familiarity with data platforms (Snowflake, Databricks, Azure Data Lake) for toll analytics
- Experience with Infrastructure-as-Code (Terraform, Bicep, ARM templates)
- Experience with container orchestration (Kubernetes/AKS/EKS)
- Knowledge of cloud security and compliance (IAM, encryption, zero-trust, WAFs; PCI-DSS; ISO 27001)
- Experience designing high availability, disaster recovery, backup, and business continuity strategies
- Certifications: Azure Solutions Architect Expert or AWS Certified Solutions Architect
