About the role
- Build and execute the federal marketing strategy across DoD, civilian, and IC.
- Develop clear, differentiated messaging, positioning, use cases and content that align to mission outcomes, evolving federal cybersecurity mandates, and AI adoption.
- Develop and deliver a thought—leadership plan to seed Darktrace speakers and content that shape the narrative in market.
- Partner closely with Federal Sales, Product, Product Marketing, Marketing, Corporate Affairs to ensure tight alignment on priorities, plays, pipeline goals, and execution to accelerate deals and Darktrace market position.
- Own pipeline creation and acceleration for the federal segment.
- Build a repeatable, data-driven federal marketing engine that scales.
- Design and execute targeted programs that address federal use cases, customer needs, procurement cycles, and compliance requirements (e.g. FedRAMP, CMMC, EO 14028).
- Plan, orchestrate and execute events virtually and in-person to drive Darktrace value and meetings (e.g., RSA Public Sector Day, DoDIIS, AFCEA events, agency-specific forums).
- Build marketing materials that drive through sales and channel, or direct to agency including executive-ready narratives, demos, presentations, content snacks, designed for federal audiences.
- Drive presence and influence within federal communities, associations, and thought-leadership platforms.
- Collaborate with channel marketing, federal systems integrators, channel partners, and alliances to co-market solutions and expand reach.
- Monitor federal cybersecurity and AI trends, funding priorities, and competitive insights to inform plans and plays for sales, product and executive leadership.
- Define KPIs for awareness, engagement, and pipeline contribution and track, measure and report monthly and quarterly.
- Build repeatable processes leveraging Darktrace systems for campaign execution and optimization.
- Manage federal marketing budget with 100% accuracy and transparency, delivering ROI and pipeline.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in marketing, business management and/or political science.
- 8+ years of B2B marketing experience, with at least 5 years in U.S. Federal Government marketing in technology companies.
- Demonstrated understanding of federal procurement, compliance frameworks, mission-driven buying behavior in FSI, DoD, IC
- Experience marketing cybersecurity, cloud, AI or platform solutions
- Proven track record driving pipeline and influencing sales outcomes, preferably in federal or gov audiences.
- Strong story creator that can translate technical capabilities into mission impact and use cases, with clear value and benefits that drive action.
- Experience with ABM, field marketing, events management, and integrated demand gen.
- Familiar with federal contracting vehicles and GTM motions
- Ability to operate in a fast-moving, competitive cybersecurity landscape with agility and dealing with ambiguity.
