About the role

  • Responsible for the technical operation and maintenance of the biogas plant, the combined heat and power (CHP) units, and biogas upgrading/treatment systems
  • Lead the team and plan staff deployment to ensure smooth operations
  • Develop, implement and maintain service and maintenance concepts
  • Ensure and monitor the feedstock supply
  • Analyze root causes of technical failures and malfunctions
  • Optimize process workflows and assess the biological condition of the plant
  • Ensure compliance with project economic targets and monitor occupational health and safety measures

Requirements

  • Education: university degree or technical qualification — degree in agricultural sciences, mechanical engineering, or process engineering with a focus on bioenergy or biogas
  • Professional experience and expertise: several years of experience in the biogas sector, solid understanding of biological processes and process-engineering operations, and experience leading small operational teams
  • Specific technical knowledge: experience in plant construction, engine technology, and gas upgrading/treatment
  • Personal skills: business acumen and strong negotiation skills
  • IT, language and other skills: very good MS Office skills, native-level German language proficiency, and a valid Class B driving license
