About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Help accelerate the company’s portfolio of innovative solutions
Co-create Oncology science and technology strategy
Member of core science & technology decision committees
Contribute into clinical protocol design and Data review
Partner with Platform and venture personnel to develop investment/innovation frameworks
Influence external engagement strategy assuring institutional relationships, collaborations, and investments
Cultivate engagements between Danaher and key opinion leaders (KOLs) in oncology and pathology
Create a franchise core science team
Support Danaher Diagnostic Operating Company Medical and Scientific Affairs on strategy
Review and endorse franchise medical plans as well as IIS strategy
Identify new research opportunities beyond the OpCo or Platform core R&D efforts
Support strategic IP management including guidance around regulatory matters
Cultivate new technical, business and talent within the market

Requirements

What you’ll need

Combined M.D. and PhD. degrees preferred, or MD/PhD with 14+ years’ experience
Established research track record as evidenced by publications and/or professional accomplishments
Board certification in Medical Oncology highly desirable
Extensive experience in the Diagnostics, Pharmaceutical and/or Life Sciences industries in clinical development roles
Expertise with related Oncology-focused diagnostic applications and technologies, patents, and other intellectual property
Proven track record of success in oncology disease human clinical trial research and/or clinical management of patients
Experience having successfully led meaningfully sized R&D and/or Innovation functions
Ability to combine and apply scientific/technical and business knowledge and demonstrate strong business acumen
Excellent process knowledge, experience, and skills
Excellent interpersonal, organization, communication and influencing skills
Extensive, active, and relevant professional network
Experience managing people and teams including budget responsibility
Practical knowledge and experience working with relevant regulatory bodies
Knowledge, experience, and career interest in leveraging unstructured data sets derived from multi-modal sources
