About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Develop and execute global category strategies for primary, secondary, and tertiary packaging materials aligned to business, cost, quality, and supply continuity objectives.
Lead supplier selection, negotiations, contracting, and performance management for strategic packaging suppliers across multiple regions, this also includes managing sustainability needs for the business.
Partner with Operations, Engineering, Quality, Supplier Quality, NPI, Risk and R&D to support new product introductions, design changes, supplier qualifications, and value engineering initiatives.
Drive total cost of ownership improvements through market analysis, should-cost modeling, productivity programs, and supplier consolidation where appropriate.
Monitor market trends, raw material dynamics, capacity constraints, and supply risks to proactively develop mitigation plans and ensure business continuity.

Requirements

What you’ll need

Bachelor’s degree in supply chain management, Packaging Engineering, Business, Engineering, or related field in strategic sourcing.
9+ years of experience in strategic sourcing, category management, or procurement with direct responsibility for packaging materials in a global, matrixed organization.
Demonstrated success developing category strategies, leading complex negotiations, and delivering measurable cost, service, and working capital improvements.
Experience managing supplier performance and cross-functional initiatives involving quality, operations, planning, and new product introduction.
Strong analytical, financial, and communication skills with the ability to translate market insights into executive-ready recommendations and sourcing actions.
