About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Develop and execute global category strategies for primary, secondary, and tertiary packaging materials aligned to business, cost, quality, and supply continuity objectives.
  • Lead supplier selection, negotiations, contracting, and performance management for strategic packaging suppliers across multiple regions, this also includes managing sustainability needs for the business.
  • Partner with Operations, Engineering, Quality, Supplier Quality, NPI, Risk and R&D to support new product introductions, design changes, supplier qualifications, and value engineering initiatives.
  • Drive total cost of ownership improvements through market analysis, should-cost modeling, productivity programs, and supplier consolidation where appropriate.
  • Monitor market trends, raw material dynamics, capacity constraints, and supply risks to proactively develop mitigation plans and ensure business continuity.

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor’s degree in supply chain management, Packaging Engineering, Business, Engineering, or related field in strategic sourcing.
  • 9+ years of experience in strategic sourcing, category management, or procurement with direct responsibility for packaging materials in a global, matrixed organization.
  • Demonstrated success developing category strategies, leading complex negotiations, and delivering measurable cost, service, and working capital improvements.
  • Experience managing supplier performance and cross-functional initiatives involving quality, operations, planning, and new product introduction.
  • Strong analytical, financial, and communication skills with the ability to translate market insights into executive-ready recommendations and sourcing actions.
