About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Drive all sales activities for the Bioresearch product platform, including instrumentation, software, and related services
  • Conduct in-field sales activities no less than 3 days per week
  • Work independently and with Channel partners
  • Build and maintain customer relationships to grow market share, revenue, and profitability
  • Achieve territory revenue goals and targets through direct and distribution channels
  • Prospect for new customers and opportunities within the assigned territory
  • Maintain accurate and timely account data, sales opportunity progression updates, and face-to-face activity records in SFDC
  • Perform technical demonstrations, training, installations, and customer support for equipment and software
  • Attend and participate in regional and local product shows
  • Generate accurate weekly, monthly, and quarterly territory forecasts
  • Monitor territory metrics and take ownership of required changes
  • Perform lead-generation activities, including eblasts, seminars, business-partner workdays, and in-field prospecting
  • Report to the Regional Sales Manager as part of the East Sales team

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor’s Degree or higher
  • A minimum of 5 years of field sales experience or selling into the life science or drug discovery industry is preferred
  • Experience in PowerPoint, Excel, Word & Salesforce.com CRM Database is preferred, with demonstrated data analysis capability
  • Ability to travel up to 50%, which may include overnight travel
  • Must have a valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record
  • Ability to lift 50 lbs.
  • Ability to work within 45 minutes of a major airport
  • 5 years of field sales experience with research instrumentation is preferred
  • Knowledge of absorbance, fluorescence and luminescence, Western Blot & Imaging technology is preferred
