About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Respond quickly to repairs, installations, preventative maintenance, and other service calls
  • Provide advanced remote and on-site escalation support for Digital Pathology Equipment across the North American Selling Unit
  • Minimize customer downtime and generate revenue opportunities
  • Communicate trends and correct parts issues
  • Disseminate technical memos, bulletins, and related information
  • Participate in recurring Service Excellence calls covering trends, upcoming changes, and best practices
  • Collaborate with product management and relevant Business Unit departments to review and maintain instrument quality reporting
  • Identify declining quality trends and develop potential countermeasures

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Associate’s degree plus 3+ years of experience diagnosing and repairing mechanical, electromechanical, robotics, electronic equipment, and/or instrumentation OR equivalent military experience working on mechanical, technical, laboratory, pneumatic, or related instruments
  • Bachelor’s degree and IT networking preferred
  • Ability to travel 90%, including overnight travel within and outside the territory
  • Valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record
  • Ability to lift, move, or carry equipment up to 40 lbs.
  • Field Service Engineering experience in diagnosis and repair of medical devices, electromechanical equipment, or scientific instruments preferred
  • Field Service Engineering and/or Networking/IT systems experience preferred
  • Strong technical acumen and analytical troubleshooting ability
