About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Guide the Key Account Management team to reach targets and develop professional skills
- Build and maintain a high-performing technical sales team
- Grow Molecular Devices’ market share, revenue, and profitability across life sciences, government installations, biotechnology, pharma, academic research labs, contract labs, and incubator spaces
- Drive growth and gain market share through planning and performance management of western North America account management teams
- Achieve regional sales targets and company goals
- Develop and maintain a high-performing Key Account Management team responsible for selling the full Molecular Devices portfolio
- Represent Molecular Devices and Danaher at industry events
- Facilitate account manager engagements with customers and drive commercial partnerships
- Coach key account managers to build relationships in focus accounts and position the full portfolio
- Collaborate with internal and cross-OPCO Danaher teams
- Develop and support Danaher solutions and generate demand for new technologies
- Champion standard sales processes, Danaher Business Systems, and digital tools
- Provide accurate weekly forecasts and daily quote approvals
- Participate in product development projects and kaizen events
- Coach new sales leaders through problem solving, performance management, career conversations, and trust building
- Support sales organization onboarding and upskilling programs with the Commercial Education Manager
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor’s Degree or higher in a related Life Sciences discipline
- Minimum of 7 years of successful industry-related sales experience in life science, drug discovery, biotechnology, or related industries
- 3 years of managing/mentoring members of a sales organization
- Demonstrated capability of building and maintaining high-performing, field-based sales teams
- Knowledge of adult learning theory, leadership development programs, and common selling systems
- Ability to use metrics and key performance indicators to identify gaps and develop countermeasures
- Must reside within the listed territory, preferably in Seattle, San Francisco, or Southern California
- Willingness to invest 60% of working time in the field interacting with sales representatives, leadership, and customers
- Valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record
- Preferred: knowledge of Funnel Management, Plate Readers, High Content Imaging, Cellular Automation Workflows, and 3D Biology
