About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Write documentation about technical products, systems, processes, research findings, etc. for internal and external audiences
Determine an effective structure and layout for complex manuals and other technical documents
Conduct research and liaise with technical staff to ensure accurate interpretation of complex technical content
Ensure that appropriate technical content and terminology reviews occur for all updates and new publications
Edit content to improve clarity, impact, flow, meaning, and readability
Package technical content from subject matter experts and other sources for truck drivers and service technicians
Help implement new digital tools and processes aligned with engineering sources and future customer needs
Improve understanding of customers and how technical content is delivered

Requirements

What you’ll need

BS/BA in English, Writing, or Journalism
0-2 years of relevant experience or 4 years of relevant experience in lieu of degree
Technical content development, and/or technical writing experience
Demonstrated analytical skills and critical thinking
Demonstrated skill to develop and format technical manuals and bulletins with an emphasis on readability
Ability to author XML/SGML/HTML content in the DITA format
In-depth knowledge of English grammar and vocabulary
Ability to handle and prioritize multiple, short turn around, critical projects
