About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Write documentation about technical products, systems, processes, research findings, etc. for internal and external audiences
  • Determine an effective structure and layout for complex manuals and other technical documents
  • Conduct research and liaise with technical staff to ensure accurate interpretation of complex technical content
  • Ensure that appropriate technical content and terminology reviews occur for all updates and new publications
  • Edit content to improve clarity, impact, flow, meaning, and readability
  • Package technical content from subject matter experts and other sources for truck drivers and service technicians
  • Help implement new digital tools and processes aligned with engineering sources and future customer needs
  • Improve understanding of customers and how technical content is delivered

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • BS/BA in English, Writing, or Journalism
  • 0-2 years of relevant experience or 4 years of relevant experience in lieu of degree
  • Technical content development, and/or technical writing experience
  • Demonstrated analytical skills and critical thinking
  • Demonstrated skill to develop and format technical manuals and bulletins with an emphasis on readability
  • Ability to author XML/SGML/HTML content in the DITA format
  • In-depth knowledge of English grammar and vocabulary
  • Ability to handle and prioritize multiple, short turn around, critical projects
  • An attached resume is required
  • Applicants must be legally authorized to work permanently in the country the position is located in at the time of application
  • Final candidate must successfully complete a criminal background check
  • Final candidate may be required to successfully complete a pre-employment drug screen
