About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Develop and lead DTNA's labor, employment, and immigration legal strategy
  • Advise executive leadership, Human Resources, and business stakeholders on complex workforce-related matters
  • Anticipate legal, regulatory, workforce, and cultural trends and proactively manage risks and opportunities
  • Counsel organizational changes, workforce transformations, restructurings, talent strategy, and culture initiatives
  • Contribute to the strategy and advancement of the Legal & Compliance organization as a Legal Leadership Team member
  • Build relationships across executive leadership, HR, employee relations, labor relations, and operational teams
  • Lead legal support for collective bargaining, labor strategy, arbitrations, grievances, union organizing, and unfair labor practice matters
  • Oversee employment law support covering investigations, discrimination and harassment, wage and hour compliance, accommodations, leaves, reductions in force, policies, employee relations, and litigation
  • Provide strategic oversight of immigration programs, policies, governance, compliance, global mobility, and workforce needs
  • Champion continuous improvement, legal technology, automation, artificial intelligence, knowledge management, and data analytics
  • Establish metrics and performance indicators for efficiency, effectiveness, and business impact
  • Lead and develop a team of Corporate Counsel and an Immigration Specialist

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school
  • Active license to practice law in at least one U.S. jurisdiction
  • 15+ years of progressive experience managing disputes and litigation, including at least 5 years in labor, employment, and/or immigration law
  • Significant in-house and/or law firm experience advising large, complex organizations
  • Experience leading labor relations strategy and advising on sophisticated employment law matters
  • Experience advising senior executives and Human Resources leadership
  • Experience leading, mentoring, or developing professionals and building strong team performance
  • Effective communication, influencing, relationship-building, and executive presentation skills
  • Experience supporting unionized workforces and collective bargaining activities
  • Experience in manufacturing, automotive, transportation, industrial, or similarly complex industries
  • Experience implementing or championing legal technology, AI-enabled tools, automation, knowledge management, or process improvement initiatives
  • Working knowledge of culture, belonging, employee engagement, organizational effectiveness, leadership development, or workforce transformation topics
  • Experience supporting senior executives through organizational change and business transformation
  • Applicants must be legally authorized to work permanently in the United States at the time of application
